Wind Point Partners Sells Marshfield DoorSystems

Wind Point Partners announced today that it has sold one of its portfolio companies, Marshfield DoorSystems.

Marshfield DoorSystems, a leading provider of doors and door components for commercial and architectural markets, was acquired by Wind Point Partners in 2000.  Marshfield was led by CEO Don Bergman, who previously served as President of Horton Automatics and President of the Newell Companies Home Hardware Cos.  Don will remain with buyer Masonite International’s commercial and architectural door business.

“Under Wind Point’s ownership, Marshfield has built a reputation as an industry leader in quality and customer service.  Our strong customer partnerships reflect our commitment to providing customers with the best products and service available,” Don Bergman stated.  “It has been a pleasure working with Wind Point, and I value their support in driving our growth.”

Nathan Brown, a managing director at Wind Point, commented, “Don has done a terrific job of implementing our value creation plan, including introducing innovative new products and improving operations.  Marshfield has been an excellent investment for Wind Point.”

Reed Smith LLP acted as the exclusive legal advisor to Marshfield DoorSystems.
