Dicom Transportation Group Acquires Time Logistics Couriers
Dicom establishes platform in the United States.
Wind Point Partners announced today that portfolio company Dicom Transportation Group, a leading provider of business-to-business (“B2B”) expedited transportation services based in Montreal, QC, has expanded into the United States through the acquisition of Time Logistics Couriers, LLC.
Based in Norcross, Georgia, Time Logistics is an asset-free provider of B2B third-party-logistics (“3PL”) services. Utilizing a broad national network of agents and 12 strategically located transfer centers, Time provides truckload and less-than-truckload transport, last mile delivery, distribution, and warehousing services to an array of blue-chip customers across the U.S.
Wind Point acquired Dicom in February 2014, in partnership with Scott Dobak, who joined as CEO. Prior to joining Dicom, Scott served as President of RoadRunner Transportation’s LTL and TMS segments, representing a $775 million P&L.
“Time complements Dicom’s Canadian freight and 3PL service offerings and provides us with immediate coverage of the continental United States,” said Dobak. “The acquisition will help us meet the growing demands of our customers, many of whom have significant interest in Dicom expanding its best-in-class services throughout North America.”
Konrad Salaber, a principal at Wind Point, added “Completing acquisitions of complementary transportation and logistics companies is a key value driver for our investment in Dicom. Time is an extremely well-operated, high-growth platform and serves as a strong foundation for our continued expansion.”
Dicom’s acquisition program focuses on acquiring courier, LTL and transportation providers in Quebec, Ontario and the United States. In addition, Dicom is seeking 3PL providers who manage transportation, logistics and supply chain functions for businesses in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.
Financing for the transaction was co-led by Fifth Third Bank and Mouvement des caisses Desjardins and also included Banque Laurentienne and BBVA Compass. Kirkland & Ellis LLP served as legal advisor and KPMG LLP acted as a transaction advisor to Wind Point and Dicom. EVE Partners served as exclusive financial advisor to Time Logistics.
